WHAT DO I NEED TO FILE A LIEN?​

IF YOU HAVE PURCHASED A VEHICLE OR VESSEL WITHOUT A TITLE

OR HAVE AN ABANDONED VEHICLE,

DO NOT FILE A LIEN 

 

1. YOUR BUSINESS MUST BE IN GOOD STANDING WITH THE STATE OF MARYLAND. 

2. YOU MUST BE IN POSSESSION OF THE VEHICLE.

3. THE INVOICE MUST BE 30 DAYS PAST DUE, AND MUST BE FOR REPAIRS.

If filing a lien on a vehicle or trailer, Please take One picture of the:

VIN, the vehicle and have a digital copy of your repair order ready to attach to the online form.

Per Maryland Commercial Law Section § 16-203, if you wish to collect on the storage you’re currently charging, you must send a Notice of Intent to Lien (NOI) when you take possession of the vehicle. If the Notice of Intent to Lien (NOI) is not sent your storage will be reduced to $300 per year. Please call our offices with any questions or concerns you may have.
